The hybrid Bermuda grass, developed by the best turf-grass scientists.

TifTuf Bermuda is the product of almost 25-years of research and development from one of the world’s leading turf-grass breeders, the University of Georgia.

TifTuf has been hand selected out of almost 30,000 different Bermuda varieties, showing superior qualities in drought tolerance, shade tolerance, wear tolerance and winter colour whilst at the same time maintaining excellent turf quality.

TifTuf has a very fine leaf blade with dense growth, making it ideal for a wide variety of applications. Its density enables it to handle high wear situations like backyards and sports fields whilst its fine blade ensures shade tolerance and a very soft leaf to walk on.

TifTuf Bermuda has been scientifically forged to produce a great looking all round lawn with superior qualities whilst requiring minimal inputs.

Genetically Pure

As TifTuf was selected from a large gene- pool based on certain traits, maintaining the genetic purity is crucial.

To ensure this, the University of Georgia has bred all of its foundation material (thousands of acres) from a single plant!

Lawn Solutions Australia has maintained this attention to detail with its propagation and expansion in Australia following similar stringent conditions.

All TifTuf sold in Australia have been subject to rigorous AusGAP certification standards that incorporate international breeding and propagation protocols

TifTuf has been bred for superior attributes that give it unmatched performance benefits over other grass types

  • Adaptability:
TifTuf is adaptable throughout typical Bermudagrass ranges, but displays greater cold-tolerance than other types. NTEP trials showed TifTuf with over 90% survivability at -20°C and outperformed all other Bermudagrasses in trials.
  • Dormancy:
TifTuf goes dormant for winter, but offers excellent spring green-up and green colour-retention into autumn and is superior over most other Bermudagrasses for these attributes.
  • Shade Tolerance:
TifTuf thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is more shade-tolerant than most other Bermudagrasses.
  • Weed-Tolerance:
A well-maintained, vigorous TifTuf lawn with good turf density will inhibit weed establishment.
  • Drought-Tolerance & Water Management:
TifTuf stays green without going dormant under drought- stress and in UGA tests it used 38% less water than other Bermudagrasses while maintaining better turf quality.
  • Insect and Disease resistance:
TifTuf is susceptible to the typical Bermudagrass insects, but recovers well with proper insect control. Likewise, with disease resistance, can be a minor problem when fertility is not managed correctly.
  • Traffic & Wear Tolerance:
TifTuf withstands wear and tear better than any other Bermudas, making it the best choice for high-impact activities such as football, soccer and golf. Because of its rapid growth rate, recovery is normally faster than other warm season grasses with the same amount of wear.
  • Mowing Height:
Maintain cutting height of 12-50mm with mowing required on a 4 to 7-day interval, depending on the season. Can be mowed with rotary mower or use cylinder mowers for a cleaner cut.
  • Establishment:
TifTuf boasts aggressive establishment from turf during the growing season, yet laid all-year-round, even when dormant. Because TifTuf is a sterile hybrid it is not available from seed.
