The Turf Farm is a family owned and operated business, started in 2013 by Paul & Tracey Daniel. Over the years, the business has expanded to add new family members, and our ‘unofficial’ family too! The team are from a wide range of countries, backgrounds and cultures, making our workplace the most fun and interesting place to be!

Paul Daniel - Our Technical Director
Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
I like driving the truck and working on the farm growing things.
Tell us a bit about your background?
Always a farmer, fifth generation farmer on this farm.
A fun fact about you?
I can pull just about anything mechanical apart, to see how it works.
If you were a bug what would you be and why?
None! I don’t want to be splattered on a windscreen.

Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
I love helping others feel good about themselves, and this business helps people feel good about where they live. The team, the culture, the laughter, the passion, the challenge!
Tell us a bit about your background?
Mum to three beautiful daughters. Naturally trusting and optimistic. Wife to my prince charming. Entrepreneur. Always seeing the potential and love the challenge of learning.

Delightful …. it suggests beyond happiness, satisfying, exciting and enchanting.
What is your most unusual or little-known talent?
I am a qualified hairdresser.

Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
The challenge each day brings, the family culture. The love of lawn.
Tell us a bit about your background?
I grew up with the love of turf. Mum and Dad planted their first crop when I was five and it grew from there. I love agriculture, sheep husbandry and all things farm life.
If I were a superhero, my superpower would be...
Reading people’s minds!
What's something I would never guess about you?
I wanted to marry a farmer, instead I found a city boy and turned him into a farmer.

Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
I have been in and out of the business for over 8 years and it has been great to see everyone treat each other like a big happy family.
Tell us a bit about your background?
I grew up in Parrakie on a farm, and did my schooling in Lameroo. From there I moved to Adelaide to work as a landscaper. After quite a few years I decided it was time to move home to be back around family and friends.
If I were a superhero, my superpower would be...
Super strength! Would make lifting lawn rolls easier!

I like to go to musicals, love them!

Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
Now that I have my son Lachie, I go to work to be myself, feel accomplished, socialise, talk to grown ups and challenge my brain!
Tell us a bit about your background?
Grew up in a country town called Port Augusta. I moved just before I was 18 to study in Adelaide, spending 3 years studying Sport & Recreation management and 3 years working at YMCA SA. Now I live in Pinnaroo with my farmer husband and enjoy the local sports, dancing, community work and family time!
A fun fact about you?
I first went on stage when I was two and didn’t like everyone laughing because we were cute, I took it very seriously!
What is your most unusual or little-known talent?
Pogo Stick! One Christmas I got over 1000 jumps and had blisters on my feet!

Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
Every day is different and the team are simply the best!
Tell us a bit about your background?
I’m a Pom! Born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. I moved to Australia in 2018 and started at The Turf Farm on the tractors as a farm hand. I am slowly learning how to be a ‘country’ girl, but will always be a city girl at heart.
A fun fact about you?
I live in a church that is over 100 years old. My partner and I renovated it into an awesome home.
What is your most unusual or little-known talent?
I’m a qualified freediver and can hold my breath for over 2 minutes.

Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
Learning about business and sales and having a great group of friends in and outside of work. Learning more about lawn every day!
Tell us a bit about your background?
I grew up in the Mallee. I have worked in retail in Pinnaroo since I was 13 years old – I have loved seeing and selling to customers and gaining experience in sales and business.
If you were a pasta shape, what shape would you be and why?
I do not discriminate against pasta – all forms are acceptable
What is your most unusual or little-known talent?
Charcuterie boards – I love creating platters for friends and family.

Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
I like talking and helping a variety of customers from all over SA with their lawn needs. It’s satisfying to start from the first inquiry stage to the hopeful end result of ordering their lawn. I like working as a part of a fantastic sales team and wider The Turf Farm team. It is a really positive supportive environment and the turf industry is an exciting progressive industry and a part of LSA.
Tell us a bit about your background?
I grew up in West Gippsland Victoria on a dairy, potato and cattle farm. I have a communications and administration background. I think my country childhood built resilience and ability to talk to all people.
What's something I would never guess about you?
I have a small home based farm preserves business called Jandora Farms.
What is your most unusual or little-known talent?
I can talk for hours on end to friends!

Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
I enjoy the puzzle and challenge of the freight each day. Every day is different and my work mates are the best!
Tell us a bit about your background?
I was born and bred in Lameroo. After finishing school I moved to Adelaide and worked in the Commonwealth Bank for 10 years. Now I live in Pinnaroo with my husband (who owns the oldest business in town!) and two beautiful daughters.

I lived with Tracey for 3 years in Adelaide.

Costa Mallios - Our Turf Barber (AKA Farm Hand)
Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
I get to work outdoors amongst the greenery and wildlife (lots of insects and birds). I’m a fan of anything with an engine, so being able to drive cool farm machinery is definitely a perk of the job. Working outside in the production team can help you get in shape! I enjoy working with such kind individuals, and they’ve made me feel very welcome as someone from outside of town.
Tell us a bit about your background?
I was born and raised in Adelaide with my parents and my younger sister and brother. We come from a Greek & Cypriot family, and I’m proud of my heritage. Prior to working at The Turf Farm, I worked for some family friends. One had a pizza ristorante, and the other had a classic car parts business.
A fun fact about you?
When I was in Year 9, I, along with some of my classmates in my English class, contributed to a novel that was professionally published.
What is your most unusual or little-known talent?
I do creative writing and design.
Grant Robinson - Turf Chauffeur
Why do you like working at The Turf Farm?
I have enjoyed working for over 10 years at the farm, seeing many changes in staff and the way things have progressed and evolved. I really enjoy every day and hopefully more to come!
Tell us a bit about your background?
From leaving school went to TAFE to become a panel beater, spray painter, mechanic…they taught everything back in the good ol’ days. Have always been driving trucks, working in auto trade one way or another and interaction with customers, which I love.

I grew up in Mount Gambier. I used to be a self-employed landscaper for my own business before working at The Turf Farm – I have experienced the business as both an employee and a customer!
