Local business achieves national Excellence Award
The Turf Farm business was honoured on the 6th June to be the recipient of the prestigious Excellence Award at the national Sir Walter conference in tropical Cairns.
The local turf farm is located in the heart of the Mallee at Pinnaroo. Specialising in Australia’s most loved lawn, Sir Walter, The Turf Farm grow and supply the best quality lawn for South Australia, including all metropolitan and country areas.
Owned and operated by local farming family, Paul and Tracey Daniel, The Turf Farm team of five has become the largest grower of Sir Walter lawn in South Australia.
Attending alongside 70 of the top instant lawn businesses across the nation, The Turf Farm team were humbled and honoured to win the prestigious Excellence Award, due to their strong dedication to the turf industry and to the Sir Walter brand. When asked whether they expected to do so well, Tracey said “We never thought we would ever have a chance to win this award when we are up against the largest and most successful turf businesses in the industry. Our team has no formal training in sales, marketing or production, but we are dynamic, committed, enthusiastic, professional and personable”. Upon receiving the award, Tracey stated, “this is a huge achievement for us in our growing business, and we are shocked, excited and honoured”.
The Turf Farm also entered the Sir Walter ‘Greatest Catch’ competition to win a boat and trailer package. Submitting their entry via video, the successful team showed the industry “our creative edge, showcased through our professionalism and friendly down-to-earth nature”. Through audience polling on the day, The Turf Farm won this award, and received it from Nigel Ruck, the Sir Walter ambassador.
When asked what’s next for the business, Tracey said, “it is back to business in supplying quality lawn to our valued customers in SA.
“We are extremely proud of The Turf Farm team as we are committed to excellence and giving all customers a lawn they will love and an experience they want to share.”
